I grew up in suburban New York — I graduated from high school at 16 and from college at 20.

I wrote my way through high school and college. I wrote slam poetry and performed in front of audiences of hundreds, even as a shy kid. I got a master’s degree (I’m a master!) with a creative thesis on feel-good topics such as ancestral healing and brute determination.
